I have referral to get genetic testing. Can I get tested during chemo or should I wait till after I complete chemo?
You can get tested any time. It's looking at your DNA, so chemo should not have any impact on your test results.
I had my testing while on chemo. They did the blood draw at the same time they were drawing my blood anyways.
Linda, your hubby sounds like a smart man :) Not often that men and women agree on something, so I'm happy we both voted the same way.
Important to get good genetic counseling along with the actual blood test for genetic testing. The hospital I go to has a Family Risk Assessment Program which is very good.
