Has Anyone Had To Have An IVP? My Urologist Suggested It To See If My Kidneys And Urinary System Are Functioning Correctly.

A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭
Cleburne, TX

I have never heard of IVP. Urologist wanted to ensure that the chemo has not damaged my kidneys or any part of my urinary system. This started as a result of kidney stones, blood in pee and slight urine leakage on a daily basis.

The chemo shouldn't damage your kidneys in a way a lab work urinalysis, BUN, creatinine, and GFR wouldn't catch. The IVP Is a standard test to see if you have a kidney stone hiding in there. It is cheaper than a cat scan- stone protocol. It's a bread and butter urologist test.
