My second surgery (re-excision to get clear margins) was mid June. I thought I was healed but about 2 &1/2 months later my incision started to seep. The incision has a small and keeps seeping fluid from the seroma. This has been going on for about a month and my surgeon has restricted me from all physical activity until it heals. The problem is that it is not healing. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so, how long did it take to heal?

My reconstruction in my left breast didn't heal correctly due to damage from radiation 5 years before. I had to have a large section of the skin excised to promote healing. Then I developed a staph infection (NOT MRSA) and had to have all the reconstruction materials (alloderm, expander) removed. I am now lopsidedly waiting for a new surgery date to resume the recon!
@A MyBCTeam Member and @A MyBCTeam Member. I have this same problem. Double mastectomy and reconstruction and reduction Surgery was 5/2/16.left boob still oozing since may. Right boob reopened from radiation and continues to ooze serum. Going to surgeon to check it out this week. Going to ask about vactherapy. Thanks
