What was the stupidest thing someone said to you when you announced your diagnosis?

What was the stupidest thing someone said to you when you announced your diagnosis?

I know that we are all supposed to focus on the positive only so if this question is out of line please just disregard or ask Mary to delete it. I know that I personally started to cringe at some of the things "well meaning" friends/family/perfect strangers would say when they found out I had BC. I always tried to temper my outward response by thanking them for their kind thoughts and words because I know cancer makes most people… read more

So I am about 6 month cancer free. What I am struggling with is people seem to think you get back to normal like the flu.

Especially at work and with my teenagers. Sometimes I feel depressed. Emotionally its like a bit of Past Tramatic Stress Syndrome combine with a body that will take a year or two to get back to normalish. How do you deal with this?

Post chemo that ended August 2017. Now on Equison (the 5 year pil)

It feels like I am battling the worst pain every single day of my life. The joint-and muscle pain is killing me, my quality of life feels zero. I take NSAIDS, and some other anti-inflammatories as well. Even anti- depressives..... I am in constant pain. Being so stiff, so sore, moaning and groaning all the time. I can't do this any more. I am almost 18 months into the 5 year treatment, but I simply can't go on any longer. What will happen if I just… read more

I finished treatment three last Friday. Where did the emotions come from all of a sudden.

I can’t watch animal videos, anything that is sentimental or inspiring. In the middle of the day I want to cry because I miss my Dad. Or, I miss the lady I used to work with and passed away shortly after her retirement. I am not a weepy person. Actually I am usually the strong one.
God help me when the holiday movies start or the Kleenex commercials begin. If you want to make some money, buy some stock in tissues. I’ll keep… read more

Stopping after 2nd A/C (Red Devil)

I am 50 years old and have completed 12 doses of Taxol and currently have completed 2 of A/C. I was diagnosed in Sept. 2018 Stage 2 with a tumor in one of my lymph nodes. I saw 3 oncologists before I started treatment. At the beginning of treatment was told I was NED, this was all to prevent recurrence. My oncotype score was 38. I am ER+ 95% and PR + 5% and HER 2 neg. This last dose of A/C has been unbearable and I know many of you have suffered through this. The nausea has… read more

I'm really not sure, but I know that A/C can cause heart issues, including heart damage. I'm just glad I'm not doing any more of it.

Is Aquaphor safe on Radiated skin?

Is Aquaphor safe on Radiated skin?

My RO's nurse gave me samples of Aquaphor to use on my sore red skin. When I googled the ingredients I found it has mineral oil and alcohol in it. How can that be good for my skin. Should I use coconut oil instead?
