ER-PR+, HER2-, Did Lumpectomy SLN Biopsy

I had stage 1 IDC, clean margins, negative lymph nodes all 4 nodes. Completed radiation and on anastrozole. Drs are saying just a "bump in the road", 95% survival at 5 years. Good news right? I have a couple of acquaintances with same diagnoses at 10 years+ coming up with a stage 4 reoccurrence. How does that happen if your having follow ups as told to? All of a sudden terrible news? This scares the heck out of me!!! Anyone experienced this, any insight???

Recurrence is always a possibility and it doesnt choise favorites. My poor pink friend had a dmx and didnt even get to radiation. They found something suspicious in her chest wall and the poor dear is waiting on an MRI. She has a 3yr old she wants to see grow up! We just have to stay out of the β€œwhat ifs” and let God be bigger than our giants! πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ˜‡

Stephanie- that sounds painful!! Have you shown this to your Primary Care Physician? Sometimes, one doctor calling another to say they have concerns about a mutual patient can move things along. Mine has been a great advocate on my behalf. Just a thought!

Just met for survivorship plan, had us ordered, said it has fluid in it. Didnt say blood or just fluid. Said to repeat us when do mammo in February. I pushed back and asked why it couldnt be drained since effective mammo, as thin as possible wasnt going to be possible. Could barely tolerate us. Now telling me could drain prior to mammo but it, lump, could come back. Well i will take my chances of it coming back for the opportunity of a more accurate mammo, first one since diagnosis. Hoping you are able to work out something more reasonable than a mammo with a baseball size lump. What are they thinking?

Is the seroma a lump of fliud or tissue? I have one in the void of where they took our cancer. I have asked each professional, surgeon, oncologist medical and radiation, they tell me it is due to the healing process or radiation. Looks like a side slice of an egg.
