Hysterectomy surgery

Hysterectomy surgery

I am scheduled for a total hysterectomy at the end of October. I have already had a double mastectomy with tissue expanders. Out of the two surgeries, which one was the worst? Thank y'all

Prayers for your surgery. I had a Hysterectomy yrs. ago and they left my ovaries. I also had Bladder repair at the same time. I’m not 100% sure but I think it was all done laparoscopic or a small incision above my pelvic bone. The worst part was having a catheter because of my bladder repair. That took awhile off and on till it was removed and I could go myself.

Based on my experience, the double mastectomy and DIEP flap repair are the worse surgeries to recover from in terms of pain and exhaustion lasting for many weeks.

Hi! When I had my hysterectomy, because of the size of the cysts, my surgeon had to cut me from my belly button down to my C-section scar! But, because he was a fantastic surgeon, I had no pain! Like Dori, there were times I pushed it. The day after I left the hospital, I went to my son's football game then went home and slept for 3 hours! Take the full 6 weeks that is recommended for recovery, no heavy lifting, no driving, lots of rest and hydrate! You're a cancer warrior, this will be a piece of cake!
