Does anyone have a problem with swelling only while wearing a compression sleeve?

I have no visible swelling until after I have worn my compression sleeve to prevent lymph edema for several hours. It has happened twice. The swelling seems to go away after it is removed. Is it hurting or helping?

Hey Terry I don't want to add any confusion but I've dealt with lymphedema for about 5 years. Wear sleeve as needed and have occasionally had to wrap it. i believe it is the degree of compression /size that is causing your problem. My hand has never swollen and I don't wear a glove only the sleeve. Was told only when flying have to wear glove unless hand started swelling. The heat makes mine worse. But a tip I found is warm lemon water which is detoxing. Helps the edema go down! But I cant do it everyday. Too much acid! Hope this helps and hang in there.

You should never ware a sleeve without a glove. You can ware the glove without sleeve but never the other. You are forcing lymphatic fluid into you hand.

My PT fitted me for a sleeve. She said I didnt need a glove as it is for prevention. I only wear mine when exercizing and doing things like gardening. She said the most important time to wear it is when flying and then leave it on for a few hours after.

I had 17 lymph nodes removed. Never had a problem. And was very active with my arm doing yard work very soon after surgery. I think that helps more than a sleeve
