If you take a look at some of the women on the beach you will see that quite a few wear bathing suits that don't fit well or shouldn't be worn at all. One boob, two, big, small, new or old, scars or not WE look better then them! I call my scars battle wounds, it's the fight of my life! Wear whatever you feel like, just have fun, enjoy the surf and sand...wear sunscreen. Love your life!

The only suits that have fit me well are Jantzen one-piece suits. However, because I am still one-breasted and wearing the prosthesis in the suit is problematic, I go one-breasted when I wear it. Because my one remaining breast is on the larger size, it does generate some glances but then people adjust. I figure it is good for them to see someone out of the norm when it comes to body shapes and sizes!

I actually just tried my swimsuit on today! It does show part of my mastectomy scar but I don't care...I'm proud of what I've been through so far and I'm not going to let my summer go by without any fun. Now granted that fun will be sitting under an umbrella with a hat on but I'm going to do it! I'm just thankful I have my tissue expanders to help fill in my swimsuit too!

That's the way to go Julie. I think when ppl see us bald, they have more gratitude for the way things are in their life's!

Lands End has a great selection, especially for us "post bikini babes". LLBean also... I must say that my plastic surgeon did a wonderful job. I was able to wear my swim suits with the expander even though I was not able to swim. AND, I agree with Donnarodriguez. We are beautiful women!!
